Test a New Mount Before Calling It an Upgrade

Make “faster” measurable

Pick a short, familiar plot-to-landmark-and-back circuit. Complete it with your current mount, then repeat with the newly hatched pet. Keep your target, detours and gear as similar as possible. Ask whether the new ride reaches the target more reliably and leaves enough time to return—not just whether its name sits high in a video tier list.

1. Choose a circuit you can repeat.
2. Identify the point where the old ride struggles.
3. Change only your mount.
4. Keep the new pet in your primary slot if the same return becomes consistently safer.

Hunt another egg or improve this one?

If your mount repeatedly stalls on the same stretch and a reachable egg area is already known, another hatch may be the useful experiment. If the mount already works well, look at the current mutation requirements before investing.

Radar may locate a target but will not solve a weak return route. Gear, speed and knowledge of landmarks address different problems; not every failed run means your pet is too slow.

A tier list has an expiration date

Creator videos can help you think through pet choices. Exact speed, acquisition rules, odds and rankings may change after an update. If two guides disagree, use the current in-game values and a controlled route test.
